Ecocert
Ecocert is an inspection and certification body established in France in 1991 by agronomists aware of the need to develop environmentally friendly agriculture and of the importance of offering some form of recognition to those committed to this method of production.
From its creation, Ecocert is specialized in the certification of organic agricultural products.
Ecocert contributed to the expansion of organic farming in the 1990s by helping to draw up French and European regulations. Still very involved in promoting organic farming, Ecocert today works with French and International Institutions in supporting project development. By winning the confidence of professionals and consumers, Ecocert has become a benchmark in organic certification worldwide.
Since the outset, Ecocert has been an independent company that has remained faithful to its convictions.
Consistent with its commitment to organic farming, Ecocert has opted to put its technical expertise to use in supporting the environment, developing its own specifications for the inspection and certification of products, systems and services. Star-K Kosher
A Kosher certification agency is an organization of Rabbis, food technologists, and field supervisors with the expertise and resources to execute the Laws of Kashrus. It is responsible for assuring Kosher consumers that food products and ingredients meet all Kosher requirements. Once these requirements have been met, a letter of certification is issued to the manufacturer who is then authorized to advertise its Kosher status, and display the Kosher symbol and promote the product as Kosher.
The word Kosher is an adaptation of the Hebrew word meaning “fit” or “proper.” It refers to foodstuffs that meet the dietary requirements of Jewish Law.
The barometer of Kosher and non-Kosher depends on two variables: the source of the ingredients and the status of the production equipment. Kosher certification, which is the guarantee that the food meets Kosher requirements, revolves around these two criteria.
